Visas are classified as non-immigrant status which gives you the privilege of indefinite residence in Panama without having to apply for citizenship or Panamanian passport. For retirees the Retire Annuitant or Retired Resident visas are available.

You can also acquire a permanent residence visa through the business investor program and it is applicable to investments in a Panamanian company that operate in the commercial, financial and industrial sectors excluding retail. Micro Enterprise Investor ($40,000) and Macro Enterprise Investor ($150,000) are available. Similar to the business visa, the Reforestation visa is a perfect alternative for investors whom want to take advantage of Panama’s Reforestation Tax Incentives program.
